Weekly Recommendation
I met someone at a cocktail bar Friday visiting from the Midwest on a last-minute (first time) trip to SF to see Ina Garten (right off the bat, I could tell he had good taste). He didn’t have much time to plan, so I gave him an itinerary for his trip for food, drinks and activities.
I could have enjoyed my drink and not said a thing, but I have been extremely fortunate to meet incredible folks and get great advice from strangers on my travels. I see opportunities like this to not only pay things forward, but also to offset the negative storylines in the press.
My recommendation this week is to be an ambassador for San Francisco, Bay Area. Help to improve the image of our cities by extending a welcoming hand when possible.
If you see a tourist who looks lost, take 2-3 minutes to help them out with directions, tell them to curb their wheels to avoid tickets, offer to take a photo of folks struggling with selfies etc. It’s the small things that can quickly add up and help brighten someone’s day.
